Jungbae Ju, Baritone

A winner of the Dong-Ah Music Competition and the Korean Student Music Competition baritone Jungbae Ju has performed Mozart’s Coronation Mass at the Korea National Theater. He made his debut as a baritone soloist in the Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony under the direction of Glen Cortese and Handel’s Deidamia with maestro Will Crutchfield at the Manhattan School of Music.

As an active opera singer, Mr. Ju has covered broad operatic repertoires including La Bohem as Marcello, Pagliacci as Tonio and Silvio, Don Giovanni as Leporello, Le Nozze di Figaro as Il Conte di Almaviva, La Traviata as Georgio Germont, Faust as Valentin, Il Trovatore as Il Conte di Luna, Aida as Amonasro, and Andrea Chenier as Gerard.

Most recently, Mr. Ju has sung Handel’s Messiah in the Korean Church Association in New Jersey and made his debut in the 50thKorean Independent Memorial Concert in Connecticut. He also has been a music director to serve the Korean Grace Presbyterian Church in New Jersey since 1995.

After completed his Bachelor’s Degree as a full scholarship recipient at the Hanyang University, Ju received his Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music. Ju has studied with Edith Bers, Armen Boyajin, and Mario Bertolino.
